WHAT IS JOBS FOR HEROES?
It's training and jobs for veterans and families ....
Jobs for Heroes is an initiative of the defence family charity Wounded Heroes Australia. It is funded by the Queensland Government to assist Queensland unemployed veterans and their families into work. The project delivers tailored support and assistance to help participants gain nationally-recognised skills and qualifications and link with local employment opportunities. We'll even help you get that job!
It's nationally recognised training ....
Jobs for Heroes will conduct a pilot training and employment scheme in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane commencing October 2018. This will focus on Certificate 3 in Business, Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care, and Certificate 2 in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways. Further schemes are planned to follow the pilot.
It's paid traineeships to start a new life ....
Jobs for Heroes is seeking support for Work Skills Traineeships in construction and land management to the South and West of Brisbane in 2019. These would be ideal for veterans seeking a different career path following physical or psychological injury. Traineeships consist of on-the-job training and paid work placements on community and environmental projects for up to six months.
It's someone beside you on the journey ....
The strength of the Jobs for Heroes project is the support and encouragement by our staff, volunteers and business partners throughout your journey. The advice and support you receive will combine the best of career advice, job preparation, foundation skills, individual case management and local employer support. We will even do our very best to find you a job - in fact, we're counting on it!
